RE: INVITATION to PARTICIPATE in the
OAEA TREASURE HUNT
WHAT: The OAEA Retired Division worked with the OAEA STUDENT DIVISION to create OAEA’s first TREASURE HUNT.
WHEN: The TREASURE HUNT will take place during the OAEA State Convention held in Dayton this November 1-3, 2007.
PURPOSE: The purpose is to provide a means for OAEA Student Members to meet and greet OAEA Leaders and visa versa for OAEA Leaders to meet and greet OAEA Student Members during our annual state conventions.
DESCRIPTION: OAEA Leaders (all OAEA Board members, OAEA Fellows, and other senior members) will be invited to participate in a TREASURE HUNT for OAEA Student members. OAEA leaders will provide a 150- word resume and a photograph of themselves. A PASSPORT like booket listing these Leaders will be produced and be given to OAEA Student members at the beginning of the Convention. (Students can pick-up a Treasure Hunt Passport Booklet at the OAEA Garage Sale Table).
OAEA Student members will then go on a TREASURE HUNT, looking for those OAEA Leaders pictured during the Convention. When students find one of the OAEA Leaders, they will ask for his/her signature on his/her resume in the Passpost Booklet, thereby providing an opportunity for students and leaders to meet and greet each other. Student will seek out OAEA Leaders throughout the convention.
RECEPTION: for the OAEA Treasure Hunt - OAEA State Convention - Dayton
Date: Saturday, NOV. 3rd
Time: 5:00 - 5:50 PM
Where: Miami Room
A RECEPTION will be held to honor our OAEA Student members. All student members and participating OAEA Leaders are invited. Students will hand in their Treasure Hunt Passport Booklets, counting up the number of signatures they have collected of the OAEA Leaders. The students with the highest number of signatures will select from the “gifts” given by the participating OAEA Leaders. Leaders/Treasurers are requested to contribute a favorite art book, art supplies, a membership in an art organization, a subscription to an art magazine, etc., i.e., something they think a student member would “treasure.” (Bring you “gift” to the OAEA Garage Sale Table with two copies of your “Treasure Hunt Resume with a photograph.”)

OAEA Retired Division - May 2007
OAEA Retired Division - May 2007
Dear Retired Division MEMBERS,
Our Retired Division is growing. We have 62 members. This is wonderful for OAEA because any organization needs to keep in touch with its senior members. The Retired Division is working on 4 projects. We hope you will want to become involved.
Two projects are with the Student Divison:
1. MENTORS: Goal to create a list of Retired Divison members who are willing to MENTOR an OAEA Student member. It you are willing, please e-mail me.
2. TREASURERS: Become an OAEA Treasurer and meet & greet student members during our state conventions. To learn more read the article in the lastest OAEA ARTlines Retired Division column. If you are interested, please e-mail me.
Our other two projects are the
3. OAEA Garage Sale and 4. OAEA Silent Art Auction. Both events raise funds for the OAE Foundation which gives student scholarships and teacher grants. You can learn more about these events by reading ARTline.
Wishing you a productive and joyful summer.
